EducationWorks offers a variety of academic and social development programs during the school day, after school, and in the summer to children and youth from kindergarten through high school. Our programs provide a safe and fun environment for children to strengthen and reinforce their academic, recreational and personal skills. Students are given opportunities and encouraged to try activities and learn skills they otherwise may not have had the chance to explore. Plus, we give them the opportunity to form caring relationships with adults and find new ways to express themselves beyond the standard classroom activities.
Through our programs, students:
- Improve grades and increase academic skills focused on reading, writing and math
- Learn to work collaboratively and productively to achieve shared goals
- Enhance their critical thinking and decision-making skills to make safer and healthier choices
- Recognize the importance of tolerance, respect for others, and peaceful conflict resolution
Students participate in a variety of activities, from one-on-on mentoring to group projects, field trips and interest-based clubs. Our programs include:
- Academic and Literacy Enrichment
In-class and homework assistance, reading challenges and math activities - Social Development
Recreational activities, sports, volunteer opportunities, workshops focused on healthy conflict resolution, and interest-based clubs such as creative writing, chess and computers - Visual and Performing Arts
Hands-on activities, projects and field trips spanning a variety of media including drama, music, movement and murals
Since 1994, our academic and social development programs have served more than 175,000 students and adults. The feedback we’ve received through the years from parents, educators, and the students themselves has been overwhelmingly positive.
